Ward Cochran
Attorney at Law

Ward Cochran is a dedicated attorney with a general practice focusing on family law, criminal defense, and a wide range of civil matters. He understands that when clients walk into his office, they are often facing some of the most difficult moments of their lives. His approach is compassionate, pragmatic, and client-focused, ensuring that every client receives unwavering support and direct access throughout their case.

A summa cum laude graduate of the University of South Carolina’s business school, Ward went on to earn his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. Over the past 12 years, he has gained extensive experience in family court, criminal court, and civil litigation, handling cases that frequently intersect with issues such as substance abuse, financial hardship, and high-conflict disputes.

Ward’s legal practice is deeply informed by his personal experiences. Having lost both parents at a young age, navigated divorce, and raised three young daughters as a single father, he understands the human impact of legal battles. His own journey through recovery from alcoholism and addiction has given him a unique perspective—one that allows him to advocate effectively for clients dealing with similar struggles. Recognizing that substance abuse plays a role in 75-80% of cases in family and criminal court, he is particularly well-positioned to provide strategic, empathetic counsel in these complex matters.

Growing up without financial privilege, Ward also knows how costly the legal system can be. He is committed to mitigating expenses wherever possible and ensuring that clients receive strong, effective representation without unnecessary financial strain. His humanist approach prioritizes practical solutions and the best possible outcomes for his clients and their families.

Beyond his legal practice, Ward is an active member of the recovery community, remains involved in his faith, and values time with his three brothers and three daughters. He also enjoys the companionship of his miniature Australian Shepherd, Milo.
